What can you do at your home to make your surrounding environment healthier and safer for you, for your kids, and for the earth?
There are so many reasons to start a home garden! It doesn't take much space at all to plant and grow an abundance of fruits, veggies, and leafy greens. Even if you don't have a yard, an herb harden can easily be grown in a windowsill in a sunlit room! Upon returning home from our Italian summer vacation, our garden was ripe and ready for the picking, and we've been enjoying garden fresh salads, that will hopefully provide for us all the way through the fall! On top of that, we began composting as a way to recycle our organic food scraps, to prepare nutrient dense, mineral-rich soil for next year's garden! One other thing we did in our yard this year was to opt for an organic fertilizer company. The company even left a sign in our yard that said "Walk on me!" Between our home garden, DIY compost bin, and organic yard fertilizer, it's safe to say we're doing our part to make this world a cleaner, safer environment for all! What can you do at your home?
